Welcome 2011...

It was a pretty low key New Years Eve here in Korea... which was EXACTLY what we needed... We have a big year ahead of us, and we're crazy excited to see what 2011 brings. Happy New Years Everyone!

"Brothers and Sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
-Philippians 3:13-14

Cold Hands Warm Heart Swap

Awhile back, I participated in a fun swap, "Cold Hands, Warm Heart", hosted by the wonderful Ilene of "Much Love, Illy" and Sandy from "Sandy a la Mode". What a great idea they had to put this swap together... thanks ladies! The main ingredient to this swap, was that the package had to include a pair of mittens, and then anything else that we thought our swap partner would like. We sent general "likes" to ourpartners, and then they were free to shop, and ship a package off. I had a blast shopping for my swap partner, Lori from "Chic Geek Designs", and hope she liked everything as much as I enjoyed the sweet package she sent my way. I received my package the other day, and it was filled with amazing goodies (that I just had to share with you.) Thank you sweetswap partner!

Baby...It's Cold Outside!

Oh yes, it certainly is winter here in Korea... and we've already received some snow. It's been coming in little tid bits, meaning.. an inch here... an inch there... a cm here.. a few flurries there... This morning we woke up to another inch or so... and it was cold! So what did we do? We headed to the indoor shopping mall a few miles away, and ate some yummy food in the basement. It's what we do best, dear friends... and it was glorious! (Next time, we're totally eating from the conveyer belt stand...)

I don't think I've mentioned this AT ALL YET... but I think it's time... Koreans are HORRIBLE drivers. I thought truck drivers in the states were bad-but you should see a Korean truck driver. They take "horrible" to a whole new level. So, as we were driving home from our mall run, the hubby and I both saw this, and IMMEDIATELY started cracking up. It was a taxi company name... and we just thought it was humorous.

Singing and Playing...

2010 has brought soooo many beautiful couples...baby bumps...babies...families... in front of my lens, and I have had a blast! I'm really excited for what 2011 has in store for me...

One of my last photo shoots this year, I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful couple/belly... I LOVE families that are "growing"...that are "starting out"... and I cannot wait to meet the lil' guy inside. His mommy and daddy are amazing musicians (and so of course we had to incorporate that in some of the photos) and I have no doubt that the lil' guy is going to come out singing and playing guitar just like the two of them!

"29" reasons...

Today is my hubby's "29th" birthday... the last year before the big 3-0! I can't believe when we met we were only 20! Last year on his "28th" birthday, I shared with you "28 reasons why I love this man"... I find it only appropriate that I keep with this theme, and share with you 29 reasons...I'm going to try real hard, but there shouldn't be any duplicates from last year!

29. He makes an amazing "Captain 1 eye" for breakfast (if you've never had one..you MUST!)
28. He's a hard worker (sometimes too much)...but he puts his ALL into everything he does.
27. He hangs pictures on the wall perfectly (even though he hates doing it).
26. He's a great navigator... was able to successfully bring me to the world's largest craft market in Seoul (transferring like 4 different subway lines) and we never once got lost!
25. He brought me to the world's largest craft market in Seoul for my birthday, and never once complained that we were there for too long (yup... 3 hours later...)
24. He breaks awkward silences really well...
23. He's honest... brutally honest, which I need!
22. He has a new passion for coffee (which has always been MY passion)...we get along great now!
21. He's adventurous (will try any side dish that is laid in front of him at any Korean restaurant!)
20. He's smoking hot every time that uniform is worn.
19. He knows when I need some "uplifting"...
18. He's NOT electronically-challenged (not like me... I take forever to figure things out).
17. He's current... keeps up with what's "in"...especially when it comes to social media.
16. He can create the logo for Coors Light with an old scar on his face (youdon't believe me...check out this photo-right between his eyes!)
15. He's really good at improvising (like MacGyver)
14. He's one of my biggest fans...
13. He has the sweetest smile in the world, and it makes me smile when I see it.
12. His laugh is contagious.
11. He's a really good massager, even though he hates massaging.
10. He looks really sexy with a beard..but not just any beard... only this beard!
9. He's playful!
8. He gives great big hugs.
7. He helps me finish the food on my plate (even when it's my ice cream and I didn't really need help finishing it.)
6. He loves to sleep... which makes me feel better about taking naps :)
5. He still opens car doors for me.
4. He appreciates anything I cook for him.
3. His heart is really huge...
2. He is going to make the best "papa" EVER when that time comes... because he's a big kid at heart.
1. HAVE to duplicate last year's #1.. He LOVES the Lord with ALL his heart...

Happy Birthday sweet husband of mine... x0x0

I Celebrate The Day

"The first time that you opened your eyes, did you realize that you would be my Savior? In the first breath that left your lips... did you know that it would change this world forever? I celebrate the day that you were born to die, so I could one day pray for you to save my life." - Relient K

"That you were born so that I may really live..."

Merry Christmas Everyone... Celebrate "The Day" with me!

M-A-G-I-C-A-L

I was invited by a dear friend to see "The Nutcracker" at the Universal Arts Center in Seoul yesterday... one word for how I felt about the whole production: MAGICAL... There's nothing like seeing a performance like that, surrounded by little ones who were WAY excited about it, like I was...and who were humming along with the music and swaying (really wishing that they could dance in their seats). The dancers were graceful, the music was enchanting, the costumes were eye candy... I even enjoyed the fact that all the adult dancers wore wigs so that they could have "blonde" or different shades of coloredhair (Korean dancers and their dark locks). I loved seeing the moms with all their little girls... made me completely excited to start a tradition like that with my little one when the time comes!

(I was only allowed to take pictures during "curtain call"...so that's pretty much all you get to see..but enjoy!)

Light Up The Sky

A few weeks back I started decorating our house for the season... We really don't have "much" to decorate with... the hubby and I have always spent our time away for the holidays, and this is one of the first years where we're actually staying at home. So, decorations were in order... replacement pillowcases were sewn, the tree was brought out and decorated with our childhood ornaments, antique ornaments were thrown into empty vessels I had laying around the house, the German pyramid was constructed and lit (more on that in a later post), and of course because we're celebrating the birth of our King, a flag bunting was created!

The hubby and I have always debated whether or not to put a "star" or an "angel" on top of our tree... and since we haven't found something that we both agree on, I decided to write out some lyrics (The Afters, "Light Up The Sky") on a small framed chalkboard, and stuck that on the top of our tree with a big fabric ribbon. Now, I'm not sure if I'm a fan of this look quite yet, but that's all I could come up with for this year...
