I've come to love specific things about Korea during the seasons, and these feathery fluffs are at the top of my list for Fall. I wanted to grab a few photos of them before they disappeared on me. They were EVERYWHERE all of a sudden (starting at the end of September) and have now dwindled down the closer and closer it gets to Winter. I have absolutely NO idea what they are (what they seed/come about from), but in my mind, they remind me of Dr. Seuss' "
truffula trees".
They do look like the truffula trees! and... I'm jealous of your photo skillz. :)
ReplyDeleteI think they are called silver grass. There are certain spots in Korea that are filled with it!
ReplyDeletethose are so fun! great photos, lady. :)
ReplyDeleteIt sure looks like what Americans call "Korean feather reed grass" (Calmagrostis brachytricha). We saw variants of it in Colorado.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these pictures, Karen!! Beautiful...I wish I could see them in person!
