German Christmas Market...Korean Feel...

One of the things that we miss MOST about Germany during this time of the year... are of course... the CHRISTMAS MARKETS! They were our absolutely favorites... the amazing potato pancakes... the gluhwein... the beautiful decorations and handmade ornaments... the nutcrackers and pyramids... the list could go on and on.

Once we heard there was going to be a Christmas Market in Seoul, held by the Germany Embassy, we KNEW we had to be there. We had a feeling that perhaps it would have some "Korean"esque quirks to it, and we were right. The sad part was, it was only like 6 tables big! They did however have delicious gluhwein, and we had some brats... too bad they were out of the goulash soup before we got there. Although it felt like it took FOREVER to get to, just to spend only a few minutes there... it was still an experience, and I certainly wouldn't have traded that time for anything else.

  1. Karen, I love that the woman's hat (in the first face painting picture) looks like a sea urchin! Your pics always have such great details. Thanks for sharing them :)
