Okay, I didn't get to photograph Jason's stache this week, but I did happen to grow one of my own (for retaliation)... I think I can grow a better one than the hubby, what do you think?

Meet Ingrid...
Sewed a little today, and created "Ingrid"... after Ingrid Michaelson, thanks to the lyrics from her song, "Everybody." It's bright, and bold... and perfect for SPRING!

Pillow Talk...
Sewed a little today, and created a new pillow for my apartment, with some of my favorite lyrics. I'm thinking about making a few of these to put in the shop (once it's up and running), as an alternative to making notebook covers all day.

Shrimp Broil...
The other day my husband's squadron had a "Shrimp Broil"... it was our first big event that we attended since we've been here, and we had a blast. I finally learned how to clean off a whole shrimp (heads, tails, legs) but wasn't as successful with the crab legs. Such great food, and great company... couldn't have asked for a better day!
“Shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, sautee it. There's, um, shrimp kebabs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo, pan fried, deep fried, stir fried. There's pineapple shrimp and lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich... That's, that's about it.”

Sewing is SEW much FUN!
Since I've been having a blast sewing/creating these notebook covers, I've decided that I will open up "shop" on Etsy! These are 3 that I've worked on, in my spare time, and will be up for sale as soon as I get the shop up and running. Also, I'm going to try and make some into pillow covers this week... my couch so desperately needs HELP!

Happy Spring!
I wonder where the birdie is?
There he is up in the sky,
He dropped some whitewash in my eye!
I‘m alright, I won't cry,
I'm just glad that cows can't fly!

Inspiration through music...
So, I've been fiddling around with my sewing machine, and some fabrics... and made this for a new friend for her birthday. It's also a sneak peek of an idea that's been floating around in my brain lately; to open up a shop on Etsy. For those that haven't heard of Etsy, it's an online shop designed to enable people to make a living (or support my habit for crafts) making things, and to reconnect makers with buyers. Many of the things being sold are either handmade or vintage, and there are even those that make "goods" out of recycled materials. You think these will sell? They're reusable journal/notebook covers that fit a universal Composition Notebook... This one was made "special" for my friend, she loves the lyrics to this "Third Day" song, and I ran with it. Music is extremely inspiring to me, and I plan on incorporating some of my favorite lyrics into each and every piece that I create! Enjoy and let me know what you think.

St. Patrick's Day
{source}
Even though I don't have a lick of Irish blood in me... I wanted to wish you all a wonderful St. Patrick's Day. Don't get pinched, wear your green!
The Madness of "Mustache March"...
And another week goes by with this madness that is "Mustache March"... whenever he comes in for a kiss, I brace myself to be scratched by a brillo pad. 14 more days to go!

The Cuteness x100
Disclaimer: The following photos may cause dog owners to abandon and/or giveaway their pup because of the ensuing cuteness.
After these photos, he went back to sleep for a bit... and I caught this photo. I love when he lounges on his back and stretches out for a nap.

The Keeper of my goodies...
Just like a cookie jar acts as the keeper of the "goods", so does this little closet in my new apartment.
It keeps all my "goodies" nicely stored, until I'm ready to create. I know it's not much, but with the apartment being as tiny as it is, it's a blessing to have a husband that let me take up one whole closet!
March, means mustache...
It's March... which means it's "Mustache March" and also means, a very unhappy Karen. The kisses are now limited, and whenever I see his face, I can't help but think, "What a creeper!" How many days until April 1?

Slowly But Surely...
Things are moving along as we've anticipated with the adoption process. We have a super awesome homestudy provider working with us... we've already had 3 "Skype" session. We're filling out a lot of paperwork, most recently the I-600A. Also, both Jason and I have completed a "Parenting Education" course on the NCFA (National Council For Adoption) website, that counts for our 8 out of 10 hours that we need to complete before the homestudy is finished. We're waiting on a book to arrive in our "snail" mail, that will take care of the other 2 mandatory hours. Lots of work, but the payoff is GREAT!

I Got Mail!
The other day I received a letter in the mail... it was a fabulous thank you from, SewCute Shop, for filling out a blog survey. I'm so excited about these hair ties (they were my thank you gift), and of course I had to model one. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Brandy!

Love Notes... I think not...
The month of "love" has come and gone (boy February flew by so fast), so the residents of Seoraksan Tower are back to putting up their "not so lovely" notes! These notes crack me up... they're posted on most of the entryway doors, so they can't be missed by all residents (unless you're blind). Jason has decided to take it upon himself to "collect" all... and so our collection begins. Enjoy, I'll share each and every one of them with you, as Jason brings them home. Perhaps you'll get a good laugh for the day, like I have.

Flowery Fun Tutorial...
I was blog stalking, early this Saturday morning/afternoon, and I came across this adorable photo on Martha Stewart's website... I figured I would share this with you, because I thought these were genius, and super easy to create. You can create these for dinner parties, birthday parties, bridal showers, baby showers, etc. The possibilities are endless, with all the different colors of tissue paper that are out there, and you won't break the bank making these decorations.
I can't wait to try my hand at these... Jason better watch out, his birthday this year might be filled with floweryness (is that even a word?!)

Hello March...
{source}
"The March wind roars
Like a lion in the sky,
And makes us shiver
As he passes by.
When winds are soft,
And the days are warm and clear,
Just like a gentle lamb,
Then spring is here."
