Well in almost 12 hours, we'll be heading off "the peninsula"... driving to the bus station, grabbing a bus to the airport, flying south, then "biking" over to the port area to board a boat to the island of Boracay (for those not so world-savvy) . From there, by foot, we'll find our "home" for the next 11 nights. People, have I told you... this is HUGE. It's the first vacation for the hubby and I in Southeast Asia, in a little over a year. Yes, he's a workaholic, and yes, I'm not sure what he's going to do without his work... but I think he'll enjoy it... I hope he enjoys it. I certainly will celebrate being able to spend SO much time with him and will love EVERY minute of it! Also, this is our last vacation (more than likely) before it's no longer just "him and I" anymore. So, I suppose you could call this our "baby-moon... or toddler/childmoon" (Since we're still unsure which age Ukraine will give us!)

My dream vacation would be packing a backpack with everything I might need and just hitting the road. Wherever I end up would be amazing. Crashing at friends places, hostels, seeing and doing whatever I wanted...amazing!

ReplyDeleteThere are tons of things I would choose to do on a dream vacation. If I had to pick one though, I think I'd say I'd go to Australia and New Zealand ~ I'd have to have at least a month to spend. I just would love to see all the unusual wildlife and things that I could only see there from the Sydney Opera house to Ayers Rock... if I had a year and lots of money... I'd visit my friends all over the world, including Karen in the Philipines... I'd see Egypt (the Sphinx and the pyramids)... I'd see the Galapagos Islands... spend time seeing Italy from the countryside to Venice and Rome... I'd visit Greece... Germany, France, Scotland, Ireland, and England... o and I hear wonderful things about Iceland... I'd want to see Spain... o and the Ukraine ~ I have a dear friend from there and have supported several missions there... maybe I'd even meet some people that I recognize from different newsletters :O) There are several places in South America I'd love to visit, too... I'd have to visit Tanzania where my husband spent time in the peace corps and I've never been to Alaska or Maine... I'd love to see more our national parks here in the U.S. I've always wanted to visit China and Japan, Malaysia and Thailand... I don't want much do I? *sigh* you did say "dream" ~ so I could go on dreaming but I think that's enough for now :o)

Since we enjoy a rather full house everyday, a vacation just me and him would be dreamy....and not possible for several years, so I'll just keep dreaming about it! I don't even think I'd care where we went as long as it was warm! This S.Korean winter is WAY too cold for my comfort! :)

ReplyDeleteHave a good time. I have been to Boracay. I am filipino and was born north of Manila. But home to me now is New York City. I loved Boracay!! My dream vaction would be to go to Italy, preferably Naples and stay in a villa for a 10 days and explore the countryside, taste some local wine, eat good Italian food, take pictures, drink expresso, eat cannolis and take in the culture and beauty of the country.
