One For One-Day Without Shoes

So I finally caved (MONTHS ago), and bought myself a pair of TOMS... for those that don't know about TOMS, let me give you the skinny...

TOMS Shoes was founded on a simple premise: With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One. Amazing isn't it? Using the purchasing power of individuals to benefit the greater good is what they're all about. The TOMS One for One business model transforms their customers into benefactors, which allows the company as a whole to grow a truly sustainable business rather than depending on fundraising for support.

Many children in developing countries grow up barefoot... and yes, I do love to go barefoot just about as much as I possibly can... however... they're more prone to soil-transmitted diseases, cuts and sores (which become even more troublesome if infected), and they can't attend schools unless they have shoes.

So there you have it... buy a pair of TOMS and you're supporting some little ones future, big time! To date, TOMS has given over 600,00 pairs of shoes to children in need... that just amazes me.

I'd love to host a "Style your Sole Party" at some point... looks too fun! This past Tuesday was TOMS' "One Day Without Shoes" Day... unfortunately, I wasn't able to join in (too many errands to run, and I needed my shoes in order to get into places-another reason why shoes are so important), but instead, I wore my TOMS proudly.
