Prepping for the "break"...

Yesterday we took Charlotte out to the front of the orphanage (right by the exit gate) to show her what life "outside" of the orphanage looks like... she has NO idea what she's in for. She stared for a few moments, and watched a few cars pass... and then was ready to head back inside. We're hoping tomorrow is the day... the day of the great "jailbreak" or in adoption lingo: GOTCHA' DAY! We have a few errands to run in the morning- heading to Charlotte's birth city in our region to receive all of her vital records, get her passport photo and paperwork started, and then picking her up at the orphanage... and saying goodbye to the life she has only known.

  1. I started following your blog just recently. You are documenting y'all's journey so well. I don't know what the time difference is to know when your "gotcha day" really is...but I certainly hope everything goes as it should so that your family of 3 can be together without orphanage walls to separate.

  8. Love the picture of her holding your hubbies hand. I have one very similar to that of Abbie holding my husbands hand when she was under a year and it's one of my favorites. Just captures what parenthood is all about. Have a wonderful "Gotcha day"!! I'm praying for you guys!
