July 17: Lessons Learned

Lessons Learned this week:

- There is no crime on putting your child on the potty every so often to try and get he/she used to it... even though they might wail... it makes for a great place to trim his/her fingernails- because they sit in one place for a long enough time.

- Teach your child the difference between a dirty diaper vs. dirty clothing... that way they'll refrain from throwing out clothes in the trash just because it has bits of banana smooshed all over it.

- If your little ones is still in a diaper and you have to change them about 4 to 5x a day... why not have them share the responsibility with you... have them "dispose" of their messy diapers in the garbage all by themselves.

- The way your child treats her baby doll... has no reflection with how you treat her... not at all... seriously... you don't fling your child into "bed" and say, "nie nie"... you don't push your child around in a Tonka truck and bang her into walls... you don't pull her arms and legs as hard as you possibly can and laugh at it... nope... not at all.

Now it's your turn... I want to hear all that you've learned this week... funny, wise, new quotes, etc... (sarcasm is completely welcome)... and link up dear friends!

Feel free to use my banner when creating your own list, but please link my blog to your post... Happy Sunday everyone.

  1. Karen.....sweet Karen...you are such an amazing mom already! I love reading your refreshing view of life now that God has graced you with a little one. Your lessons learned crack me up sometimes. The lessons I have learned this week

    1. It doesn't matter if people give you weird looks as you walk through the grocery store singing "Patty Cake Patty Cake", because it makes your lil'man happy!

    2. Slobbery open mouth kisses are the best thing on this earth.

    3. Daddy is better at bath time, and I shouldn't be offended if lil'man stops mid crawl-sprint from bedroom to tub to put his hand up letting mom know "Daddy has this taken care of"!!!

    4. I will never get tired of seeing both her boys relaxing on the couch watching "Andy's Airplanes"!!!

    5. I continue to learn that saying goodbye is never easy but a necessary evil!!! The good thing is that as your old friends move on, God sends new ones to cuddle up comfortably in that empty space!!!

God Bless you for starting this thread!
