We didn't put her swimmie diaper and bathing suit (gifted from a dear friend!) until we got to the pool... and she was a little apprehensive as to how different those diapers feel from what she's used to. Not to mention, this little one has never been in a swim suit... but the fact that this suit was coral pink and had fringes on it, totally made her day-she's our little "fashionista"... and she came out of the locker room into the pool area with her hand on her hip (seriously, she does this all the time when she "struts" her stuff...) ready to take on whatever Papa had planned for her. For those that don't know... the pool is 100% Papa's Domain... so this Mama has no say on what he does to Charlie, or what happens while in the pool... and I'm not allowed to "console" her if she goes under... so, I just whipped out my camera and took photos instead.
Papa took her to the big pool first, and let her touch the water, and let her kick with her feet in the water... then, we took off for the "Kiddy" pool, where Papa just put her right in the water (it was up to her waist), and she LOVED it.. she started splashing herself and when she became so excited, she even went face first into the water, got herself back up, brushed away her hair and watered eyes, and was ready for more splashing. After about a half an hour in the "Kiddy" pool, Papa took her out and brought her to the "Big Person's" Pool... where she enjoyed a healthy amount of fear, excitement and anticipation on what swimming lessons with Papa will be like. I'm so proud of her... and I think Papa was pretty happy with the outcome as well.

Look at those eyelashes!!! Holy cow, that girl is the 2nd cutest little girl in the universe!!! (The first being Max, of course.) And I don't think I ever told you how happy Ryan and I were to hear that you were calling her Charlie- we get a lot of flack for calling Victoria "Max." Now we're not alone! Hee hee!
ReplyDeleteJason looks so happy. You really captured Charlotte's emotions with the camera. :)
