Sweet Sweet Charlie...

Sweet Sweet Charlie Wray,

Wow, it's hard to believe that another month has come and gone, and it's been 2 months since your "Gotcha Day!" It somehow seems LONGER... we feel like we've known you, your whole life, and yet it's only been 2 months. People used to say how "time flies" when you have kids... but right now... the time certainly isn't flying. What's strange is how fast the weeks go by... but they don't add up to the amount that they "feel" like.

It has been another month, nonetheless... a month full of tons of exploring- You love learning all about yourself, and the things you "enjoy" to do, and the foods you LOVE to eat (rather than the food you'll eat, just because it's in front of your face.) You're exploring your surroundings and becoming more bold (sometimes you only hold the rail with 1 hand instead of both, when going up the stairs!) and daring each and every day. You are testing the limits... seeing how much Mama and Papa will put up with... but also one of the most obedient little one we have EVER met.

You currently ADORE "Elmo's World" on Sesame Street... (and although I never liked that puppet's voice, I have to admit, it's pretty catchy)... you think Animal Crackers and Blueberries are the best "mmmack" (translates to snack) in the whole wide world... and the words/sounds are starting to flow from your little mouth/lips.

In this last month, you've gained 2 pounds, and you've grown 1 full inch. You've probably seen more doctors (routine checkups with your pediatrician, dentist, eye doctor, cardiologist- for your little murmur) this month, than you've seen in your whole life. When we first met you, little girl... you were so frail and wobbly.. and now, you are one strong/tough cookie... just look at this difference:

sweet girl... you amaze us... and just when we get upset because you haven't done anything "new" in a day... you pull out a new trick. You're constantly keeping Mama and Papa on their toes, and that is exactly what a little girl does... so high five to you. We are constantly running around to "catch" you (you wander.... A LOT... ), we have to fight the Koreans in order to "get you back" (they just adore you and want to keep you for themselves), and you believe your job in life (right now) is to hug each and every person you come into contact with...

We love you sweet girl... and are so excited about what's in store for month #3,

Mama and Papa (but you call him "Da Da")

  2. I am so NOT surprised she is thriving in your love and adoration. So happy for the three of you. She's totally eatable (so cute you just want to eat her up with kisses, hugs and snuggles) :O) ~ CB

  4. I cannot believe that a child can change that much in just 2 months! It's simply amazing! You seem to have slipped in to the motherhood role almost seamlessly, so kudos to you! She's one lucky little girl!

  7. Wow! Our neighbor who adopted a 10 year old from Columbia experienced the same. I think she said she grew 3" and gained 20# her first year here. Love and good food will do that. Love watching your journey with her.
