Brownie Points

Omi and Opa (German for grandma and grandma... my mom and dad) showed up down South yesterday. Instead of making them rent a car and drive a bit to see us, we decided to show up at the airport to pick them up, and bring them to Alabama. Again, it was love at first sight... and Charlotte just RAN to her Omi and Opa! What a great way to start their trip with us... we made it back to Alabama, just in time for a quick walk along the riverfront during "golden hour" my favorite sunlight in the day. I don't think I can actually get sick of that beautiful walk. This time around, we got a little closer to the steamboat... Omi even enticed/instigated Charlotte to walk through the fountains and get soaked... seriously, Omi grabbed her hand, and ran through with her (it was her idea, not Charlottes!) and definitely scored "brownie points" from Charlie.

  1. Way cute! I love that you call your parents that. Although I always thought it was Oma and Opa. Haha I secretly hoped that one set of grandparents would pick that as "their" names, but I don't think that's happening. I just love it! Have fun!

  2. Charlie is getting so big now! So happy that y'all got to come to the US to see family. I am OMA to Zander and Ady. We come from a long line of German blood on my side :) I think it is unique to be called that. I think your next assignment will be Tinker, and if it is, you should live in Norman. You will love it there. We just got back from a two week visit and can't wait to go back. Take care and have a safe flight back to Korea. Prayers. Judy
