Loving ALL angles...

Time with the grandparents (my "in-loves") has been so sweet the last few days. We couldn't have asked for anything more, except maybe, time. Time flies by too quickly... and we're already looking forward to our next stateside visit this upcoming Christmas... I'll start counting down the days when we're back in Korea.

A few weeks back (wow it was a while ago!) I wrote one of my very posts on photography tips, about angles. If you missed that one, you can catch back up on it here... or re-visit that post if you need a refresher. While we were watching Da Da participate in Project X (a team building exercise that enables you to solve problems under a 15 minute time limit, on your toes with no heads up ahead of time)... we had nearly 2 hours to keep a 4 year old occupied... so so thankful for the stone/pebble ground cover.

We were surrounded by rocks... so of course, we played with rocks... A LOT. Since Charlotte sat still for quite a few minutes with Papa "D"... I took the camera out, and snapped their time together. I tried many different angles... and here's what I came up with...

Front view...

Front view with a different focus...

Focus on the little one and how cute and "nestled" in Papa "D" 's lap she sat...

Focused on the stones... her toy for nearly 2 hours...

Side angle...

Side angle... but instead of focusing on the rocks, I focused again on how "nestled" Charlotte was in his lap.

Looking down on their "play"... from the back...

Looking down from the side/front...

Up close and personal...

I can't say enough about angles, and how each angle yields different results. I spent just 5 minutes snapping away at Papa "D" and Charlotte, and achieved many different photos (I think they felt like they had their own paparazzi) from the same action. Sometimes you fall in love with one angle more so than the other... but in this example, I just LOVE them all.

**Just realized that first photo, just makes you laugh at reading the title of the blog post... totally didn't mean for that. I'm just not allowed to post any photos of Project X and the obstacles they had to solve, and therefore was stuck with just this photo to post about it! I know, it sounds like an excuse... but you know me!

  2. haha, love it!!! And the playing with rocks thing reminds me of how often we buy kids expensive toys when they are more than happy to play with rocks and empty boxes.

  3. So cute! I love that she is just enjoying time with Papa. How adorable! I love seeing all the angles too! Makes me really want a dSLR someday to take great photos of my little one, but eh, that's what my Mom-in-luv is for! ;)

  4. There is no joy so sweet on earth, so pure, so "heavenly" as the feeling of holding a part of the next generation in your lap. What no one heard (except us) was the day-long rendition of "this little light of mine" that accompanied EVERYTHING she did. . . . and Charlie was "this little light" for us -- all day long. How great is our God, who would knit together these lives into a fabric so rich and glorious, it can only be called FAMILY.
