A-okAy

With Charlotte starting school today, I knew I had to sew up a sweet little number for her very first day of school... so she would remember it as being a special day. Then I had this crazy idea... perhaps for EVERY day she has school (which is twice a week, unless it's a holiday), I will create something handmade for her to wear to school... because I want her to LOVE handmade as much as I do. After all, it's a one of a kind item, for my one of a kind girl, right? We'll see how long that idea lasts... but for now, this cute little double layered skirt will do for the first day. It's made out of some of my VERY favorite fabrics to date, Michael Miller's Children at Play by Sarah Jane. Adorable fabric makes an adorable skirt (not to mention its simplicity)... did it meet Charlotte's requirements?

As long as it's fabric that she "likes" with colors that she "loves"...

As long as she can run in it... (and even adjust glasses mid run)...

and twirl/dance in it...

without it falling off...

and all accessories "match"...

and lastly, as long as there is still room to grow into it...

then it's A-okAy with this little one...

I'd say that's a check. check. check. check. check. and... check.
