Welcome Spring.

With today being the first day of Spring, I thought it would be fun to share a quick little way to welcome Spring. Charlotte and I picked up some sweet little bulbs, and if we started this weeks ago, we could have tried to plant our own and watch the "greens" come up... but since we didn't, it was easy to find some at our local "4/9" market that were already blooming for us. Now the fun part will be to see which color they turn into. Some of my favorite flowers, are Spring time flowers.. love how bright and cheerful they are after not seeing so much color throughout the Winter. That by far is my most favorite thing about Spring... and so it was a no brainer to share that with Charlotte.

We started by scooping the dirt into the glass jars... she was good for the first one, and totally wasn't interested by the time we the third jar needed to be filled.

Charlotte kept calling it chocolate, and I kept reminding her it was dirt... and that it was, "yucky..." but I guess sometimes they just have to find out for themselves, right?

not so yummy, right?

After placing the bulb in, we used some colorful tissue paper and baker's twine to wrap up our sweet little "Spring jars"...

Such a simple, sweet little way to share some "Spring" with someone.

  1. So glad to see you using your remote. :-) And, I think we all have photos of our kids 'tasting nature' sometime or another.
