Texture

I've recently joined a blog circle for military spouse photographers, and was able to join in on the fun with this month's theme: TEXTURE. Oh my mind went swirling with all the different directions I could take this topic... I ventured outside with my little one, for a little walk down into my Korean village, and was instantly drawn to all of the beautiful gardens.

tex·ture 1. A structure of interwoven fibers or other elements. 2. The distinctive physical composition or structure of something, especially with respect to the size, shape, and arrangement of its parts. 3. Distinctive or identifying quality or character.

So take a walk with me... You'll see bits and pieces from our little adventure and hopefully "texture" through these photos...

Isn't it amazing... texture ( to me ) is what draws in your eyes to the picture... it's the "allure"... It doesn't surprise me in the least that so many fabric designers and other artists use a "walk in the garden" to to inspire them... or surround themselves with nature. It's easy to "get lost" in it all...

Now lets go check out another photographer's interpretation of "texture"... please join me in hopping over and saying "Aloha" to Kriscia Morris' blog- here.

  1. I'm a new reader, but I don't think I knew that you were military! My husband is in the Navy (submarines). It makes me happy to find another who knows that lifestyle :)

  5. The village picture just filled me up. I taught in Korea for a year right out of college. I have such an enormous soft spot for that country and their food. I'm so glad you're a part of this circle so that I may live vicariously! Beautiful walk you took us on!
