Whirlwind Trip: Day 4

While visiting in Hawaii, we snuck out to Target one night to do a little shopping... man I could walk those aisles for HOURS... not purchasing anything... just staring at all of the possibilities. There was a purpose of going there... to purchase eye patches for the little one... and maybe a couple odds and ends to hold us over until we make it back to the states in January. One thing I did want to find, was a little something to give to the little one for getting through 2 appointments at the hospital. She's such a trooper, and even with jetlag, she still was super for me, and the doctors. Lately, she's really been into the movie "Tangled"... yes, it's not new in the Disney realm, but this girl cannot.get.enough. So it was a no brainer to find a little "Rapunzel" doll... she immediately fell in love.

The morning that we flew out, we woke up super early to just enough some breakfast (coffee for me) outside under the beautiful trees... to get out some of that energy. Man, she has A LOT of it. Like... A LOT. I think I would too, if I was inside an orphanage for 3.5 years of my life. Strangely, Charlotte and Rapunzel sort of have a bunch in common, so it's no surprise that she would LOVE that movie... her favorite song from it: When My Life Begins. She acts out that scene of the movie ALL the time.

Just smell the grass! The dirt! Just like I dreamed they'd be!
Just feel that summer breeze - the way it's calling me
For like the first time ever, I'm completely free!
I could go running
And racing
And dancing
And chasing
And leaping
And bounding
Hair flying
Heart pounding
And splashing
And reeling
And finally feeling
Now's when my life begins!

and then we said our farewells... oh Hawaii... we WILL see you again, but next time we're bringing Daddy with us.

  4. Tangled is pretty popular around here these days, too. Since you're crafty, you might be interested in the Rapunzel hair braids I made for the girls. Just a skein of "blonde" yarn, braided and looped onto a flower crown. Adelise is wearing hers in one of the pictures in this post: http://themceacherns.blogspot.com/2012/05/more-fun-with-grandpa.html

  5. Awwww! (I just noticed I am the third person to start their comment with Aww, but I can't bring myself to delete it!) Seriously, what a Sweetie and you too for capturing these moments so beautifully. I love your photography, Karen. I keep noticing how much I just photograph Lucy all the time, but seriously, I don't get sick of seeing other people's kids over and over. Keep it coming! Love getting a beautiful peek into your world.
