What's In The Heart

We've been having some issues with our house here in Korea... I think it's sort of happening on purpose, to help me NOT miss this place quite as much. That's what it HAS to be... there's absolutely NO reason for it to take days for a repairman to come over, and then not properly fix something (thinking that it was fixed), and then not showing up for a return visit to fix the problem (we stayed home all day yesterday waiting for a person that never showed up).  We're still waiting to hear what happened to him... perhaps he's still "youtubing" our issue, and trying to figure out how to fix it. (sorry, complete sarcasm, because I'm trying to not get angry with this matter)

That being said, I went out 2 nights ago for a photo shoot, and on the way back home, I pulled over to the side of the road, to take in the beautiful Korean countryside. I was SO frustrated with Korea... and I really needed to take in the beauty, to just ease the ridiculousness that I was feeling towards this country. Taking this 5 minute time out, to focus on something other than my anger... was totally what my heart needed. It's super easy to complain... unfortunately... but it does NOTHING to fix what's in the heart. Focusing on the positive... that can help with the heart, and that's just what I'm going to do...

  1. Gorgeous. I think you did a great job focusing on the positive! God has a funny way of realigning our hearts when we need it. ;) I think He is preparing you for your wonderful new home!

  2. Such beautiful countryside! It's amazing how similar it looks to my neck of the woods here in the States. I guess we forget that sometimes. Sorry about all of your troubles but what you learned is good for us all. By the way, I really like your change in blog colors!!

  4. you know, when we were awaiting a date to leave korea (knew it was coming, just didn't have any idea when), i would have to do the same thing. there was a back way home from post & i would purposefully drive that way sometimes, just to enjoy the rice paddies & stillness. even while chomping at the bit to be "home" again, that short detour would give me strength to make it a few more days. korea has its own brand of ridiculous sometimes but it sure does have quite a few things to make up for it. miss you, friend! :)
