30 seconds.

A LONG time ago, I started sharing photography tips on this blog... and I've sort of let it go to the wayside... you know, because I dove into motherhood full throttle (adopted a little one, had a baby, and pregnant with another, all within 3 years!)... maybe just maybe, it'll be something that I'll bring back, if there's any interest (do comment below, if there's something specific you'd like to learn or that I might be able to share with you). In the meantime, be sure to check out this post... it has a lot of fun tips regarding angles... When photographing little ones, it's SO important to try out the many different angles/ways that you can capture a moment. You can snap a few pictures in less than 30 seconds... and they can ALL look different... like the ones I captured of Marley below...

When capturing photos of little ones, you gotta move quickly... sometimes 30 seconds is all you're given... make the most of it!

  1. The photography tips are a huge help! Thank you for sharing them. I definitely started taking pictures differently after that "angles" post awhile ago. I think I am such a fan of your photography because of the angles and lighting (aside from your subjects being stinkin cute), so I have tried your techniques in my own. I think I am still at the stage where "I don't know what I don't know", so this is just one request to keep the photography tips coming!

  2. Oh, I thought of one! I seem to still have trouble with focusing crisply. Do you use auto focus with your kiddos? Which sensor mode do you tend to use to try to capture their eyes or whatever your focus point is (the multiple sensor, single sensor where you move the sensor around, or single sensor where you move the camera...focus...and then move it back to the framing you want)?

  4. Love this! and I'd love to hear photography tips :) I find that the first picture I take of M is usually the best. She loves to smile/laugh when I pull out the camera!

  5. Yay! I love how your photos are always SO vibrant and alive. What is your favorite lense and do you have a "favorite" aperature you shoot on when it comes to certain subjects? Do you adjust the saturation in photoshop, or do your photos natually bring in that much brightness? Also, do you only use natural light? Thanks dear, we appreciate the tips (and I adore your blog)!
