Dear Finn Mostyn { 7 months }

Dear Finn Mostyn,

7 months! 7 whole months... you are 7 months old. This last month FLEW by. We can't get over how big you're getting. Pretty sure that it'll only be a few months, and you'll have caught up to Marley's size. People already question whether you two are twins... even though you're clearly so much younger...

Little boy, you had a BUSY month... you started eating solids like a boss... avocados and bananas either separate or together, are your favorite. Though you really don't mind everything else you've tried. So far, the only thing you don't like to eat, is rice cereal/oatmeal. So we keep feeding you the fruits and veggies... and you're a happy camper. You also are about to cut teeth any day (you can see the buds right on your gum line), and cold cucumber slices seem to be the only thing that make you happy. It's pretty cute watching you munch on them. Watching your reactions to all the new foods has been so fun. You definitely are flocking towards the veggies more so than the fruits. You don't mind the fruits when they're combined with the veggies... but on their own, you're not a huge fan.

You started sitting up all by yourself this month. You still fall over from time to time... but when you do, you go straight into tummy time on your belly, usually without a complaint. You love being right in the middle of your sisters playing, while you sit up... or you like to be surrounded by toys. Your favorites right now are the peg people (Mommy think it's because you like chewing on the wood) and some small board books. If you hear your sisters giggling in another room, you make this load roaring sound... usually telling Mommy to pick you up and bring you to them. You want to be near them when you're awake, and not eating of course.

Tonight, while Mommy sits here typing, you mastered the jolly jumper. We've been putting you for a few minutes here or there, but you didn't really understand the concept. Tonight, while she's been typing this blog post, you TOTALLY figured it out. You had such a huge smile on your face, and you laughed the entire time you were in it. Definitely looked like an awesome workout. You fell asleep shortly after, so hopefully that was some good exercise for you, and that it exhausted you to sleep all night long.

Sleep was rough in the beginning of the month... but got MUCH better towards the end. For a few weeks you were waking up about 5-6 times a night. Whew, that got old... quick. Thankfully in the last week, you're back to sleep a full 12 hours, with the exception of one quick nursing session usually around 4 or 5 am. You've been going to bed between 7 and 8 pm (except tonight, you wanted to stay away to figure out the jolly jumper) and waking up usually around 8 am. You're back on schedule (for the most part) with your naps. You take about 1-1.5 hours in the morning, and a solid 2-2.5 hour nap in the afternoon. If we are out and about, then you don't nap. You are too busy scoping out the scenery and the people. Speaking of people, you love when people stop to say "hello" to you. You flash your little smile at them, and coo a whole bunch. Then your sisters get angry that you're stealing the spotlight.

This last month, Grammie and Papa "D" came out to visit, and you loved listening to your Papa "D" talk. I think it's because of the tone... we don't have manly voices around here most of the time. You loved on your Grammie the whole time she was here... you were rocked and on more than one occasion, you slipped away into "la la" land in her arms. All the attention, you adored it. This month is exciting too... you get to be reunited with your Daddy. Something tells me, you're going to eat him up. And vice versa. It's going to be such a fun surprise to see how shocked he is at how big you've gotten! You're a whole different baby to him... compared to the baby he left 4 months ago. He's missed out on a bunch, but there is still so much to look forward to. You continue to amaze us more and more each day.

You are so loved, so so loved...

Daddy, Mommy, Charlotte, and Marley
