Sweet Babies { Weeks 19 & 20 }

Dear sweet little babies...

Let's not focus on the fact that I'm 2 weeks behind on these posts... let's focus on the fact that I'm actually getting these updates out there, while in the midst of a HUGE move. We're so thankful that we should be able to visit with family, and move across country, and settle down in our new house before you two come along. We are so excited for that time...

You two are making Mommy extremely HUGE and uncomfortable already. I'm growing doubly as fast... and my body can sure tell. Usually, I don't hit this stage until around 30 weeks, but as of 1 week ago, I'm measuring 7 weeks ahead... just another sign that there's two of you in there... if I didn't already believe it.

We had two big appointments this week... one was my 20 week appointment, where we heard your strong heartbeats. In fact, as the nurse listened to you, you both liked kicking back at her. You either don't like it when others poke around in your territory, or you were just saying "hello" to her... either way, it was really cute.

The second appointment was an ultrasound to see your pretty faces. Oh you two, you're supposed to be fraternal, but to me, you have the same profiles. I'm sure there will be plenty of differences, but the little button noses... they're the same for both of you.

Baby A... you're measuring 1 oz bigger than Baby B... You are already head down, and "in position"... we will see if you stay that way or if you decide to change it around a bit. You were busy keeping your hands near your face during this ultrasound, but the doctor did come in, and share some news with us. He thinks you "might" have a cleft lip. We will know more at the next ultrasound... all Mommy could see was a little wave in your lip... like a hook. But, we will try and get a closer look at your face next time (if you let us). Either way, we know that you will be a brave one... and there's so much that can be done to fix that lip of yours if need be. You are a treasure, and we don't see you any other way.

Baby B.... you FINALLY retreated north. Although you've given Mommy some relief on her lower back, you're bothering me in my rib cages now. You like to nestle in there, and push them out... ouch. You were quite the active one at the last ultrasound... perhaps it's this "new found space" ... you also kept putting one of your hands near your face.

You two are still the same gender... haven't changed... so we will share with the world, now that we are CERTAIN of what you are. We have been celebrating this news, as a family, for awhile now... and it still doesn't feel "real" yet.

Your brother and sisters are still so very excited about the idea of "babies" and not just a "baby". Marley and Charlotte especially want to feel you kick. You both kick hard, but not when their hands around. So, we need to work on that timing, ok? They just want to "feel" you both, know that you're there... and I can't blame them. We just love you two.

Keep growing little ones... we are so thrilled to have you be a part of "us",

Daddy, Mommy, Charlotte, Marley and Finn
