I Want To Remember part 8

I don't know why it's always been awhile since my last "I Want To Remember" post... there's so much I want to remember on the daily... but it always slips my mind to jot it down. Mom brain is real... and it doesn't get better the older my kids get.

These are the things I want to remember...

-  A few weeks ago, Charlotte brought home an application packet to join the "student council" in her school. She had to write an essay on why she wanted to be a part of it.. she'd have to read her statement to the class, and then the class would have to vote in 3 people. This girl, she wants to be a part of EVERYTHING... she loves to be involved... loves to help, so naturally I knew she'd want to do this... but there was a huge part of me, that was nervous. I mean, the class had to vote yes or no to her... and there was this part of me that got nervous about the rejection piece... that her classmates very well could say "no"... and the hurt that would come from it. But she was determined...her essay was only 3 sentences long.. short and to the point... and she did it, she won her classmates over as one of the council members. She's pumped.

-  The twins are talking more and more... Jo is definitely the front runner when it comes to stringing words together, but Mable is more clear with her words. It's hilarious and wonderful all at the same time. I forgot about this stage, and it's definitely one of my favorites.

-  Before Marley started Kindergarten, she could count to 20, but no higher... and she would stumble on a few numbers. The other day while I was prepping dinner, and she was busy coloring beside me, she began to count. Without being prompted or guided, she went from 0-100 all on her own, then she started "100, 1,000, 10,000, 100,000, 1,000,000..." until she got up to trillions... she's unstoppable. She's picking up her sight words so well, got all of her spellathon words correct, and is just flourishing at this whole "school" thing.

-  Dinosaurs are still Finn's thing... I thought maybe it was like a "fad" or something of that nature, but the kid just enjoys them SO much. He loves when his sisters play dinosaurs with him... or goes out hunting for them. He's starting to love learning about all animals though as well... and wants to watch Animal Planet on the daily.

-  Last winter, my goal was to give my blog/photography website a complete OVERHAUL... and that just didn't happen. I have this way with starting projects, and not finishing them. I was completely overwhelmed by what sites to use, or what design to do... I listened to a podcast awhile back. On it, the words, "It doesn't need to be perfect, just get it done..." were spoken... and those words hit home. This is the winter, that it WILL get done. I narrowed down which platform this blog will be moving to, as well as my photography stuff... and that was already a huge step. Next up, is narrowing down which template I'll use, and figuring out how to import this old blog, into something new... and move along from there. I'm not going to let "what photos do I showcase" scare me away... that's a bridge I'll cross when I get there... but for now, I just need to get it done. Just be prepared, you're going to see a lot of change around here... soon... ish.
