Affirmation

This is the first time that the hubby and I have been apart from each other, for as long as this will be (as long as he doesn't fail out). Not only is this the first time... but add on having a little girl that you just recently adopted. As difficult as it's going to be for me and the little one... I know it's going to be REALLY hard on him... Since one of his dominant love languages is "Words of Affirmation", Charlotte and I created a very special little flip book for him. This would work for ANY situation... a fun birthday gift, a deployment, Valentine's Day gift, etc.

I took some recent photos (self timer pro) of us, index cards, washi tape, and self laminating paper... and put them all together, to create this:

Photos on one side:

Verses (about perseverance and endurance) on index card... embellished with washi tape on the other side:

laminated, punched holes, and then added them to a metal ring:

Voila... a little flip book for the hubby to take along on his journey.

  3. What a thoughtful gift!!! It's beautiful! I'm sure it would be hard for him being away from those that can affirm him if that's his main love language! What a sweet family you have!

  7. I made a similar project but had the hardest time finding the rings, and had to tie them together with twine! I didn't think to laminate the pages though! I will have to keep that in mind as I am sure I will be sending some more during this deployment!

I love the idea writing on the back too!
